INIA is a Spanish public research organization exclusively dedicated to agri-food and forestry research. The Centre of Animal Health Research (CISA) belonging to INIA is a High Bio-containment facility of 10824 m2, recognized as a unique Spanish scientific facility. It is the International Biosafety Reference Centre for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and it is the World, European and National Reference Centre for many FAO and EU notifiable animal diseases. CISA focuses its research on diverse aspects (diagnostics, epidemiology, vaccinology and immunology) of emerging, exotic and important economic diseases of farmed animals.
Role in the project:
INIA will collaborate in WP1, WP3, WP4 and WP5, especially in relation to salmonid diseases.
Key persons involved:
|Dr. Carolina Tafalla has more than 18 years of experience in the field of fish immunology. Since 2003, she is the head of the Fish Immunology and Pathology group at CISA focused at studying the immune mechanisms responsible for natural and vaccine-conferred protection in fish. The group is currently formed by 4 postdoctoral researchers, 3 PhD students and one technician. She has published more than 65 scientific papers in SCI journals and has participated as PI in numerous national and EU projects/ networks. She received a Marie Curie individual grant (Contract N° QLK2-CT-2001- 51894) and in 2011, she received an ERC Starting Grant to characterize B cell responses in teleosts.|
